A while back, I had a transmission lockup problem (Once the transmission locked up, and then unlocked, it would not lock up easily again).
Under warranty, Dodge replaced the Valve Body, along with all the ATF fluid, and, I hope, replaced the filter at the same time -- they said they do whenever they open up the pan.
MY questions now are:
1) My transmission locks up firmly now. But, once locked up on a grade, as I stomp on the fuel pedal, the transmission remains locked in 4th and will often not down shift to a lower gear, thus the engine accellerates slowly by "building steam" -- builds a LOT faster now that I've installed an EZ box.
1a) Is this continual lockup normal?
1b) Is this lockup condition desirable, as I have read on the TDR that many of you have problems of the torque converter not locking or having problems locking.
2) On flat ground (even with my 6000 lb TT and Boston Whaler combo) and light grades, I always have to keep my foot on the brake pedal to keep the truck from IMMEDIATELY launching. I have read that some of you must press the fuel pedal in order to engage torque converter to move the truck.
2a) Is this immediate launching normal with other 4x4 Auto ISBs? ---- I'm thinking about a Bill K. TC/VB, but wondering if my Dodge VB fix was adequate enough to allow me in delaying spending the $2k or so on transmission BOMB.
As always, thanks for feed back guys..... & dolls?

Towing a '96 21ft Boston Whaler Outrage with 225 hp Johnson and galv. TT. Getting ready to BOMB because the Dodge is a little doggy towing the Whaler and my big Asian butt. Bomb run #1, Edge EZ box. Next???
