Redneck

You know now you have turned a simple debate into personal Bullsh**, that is totally uncalled for, talking about Bill since he Canadian.

I am going to say this one time and one time only.

If you guys want my R&D info. dont hold your breath.

PS , tell Joe for me, you know Joe, find your own answers , im glad you guys are so interested in my Ford program enough to try and inquire on this Dodge site.

I find this all very facinating, but you will forgive my ignorance in not help you guys reverse engineer my products before i officially release them to the public.

To directly answer your question, i am not stupid enough to try and hang a 110 lbs at the end of my crank.

I already know as I'm sure Suncoast knows by now the potential engine damage this can create.

As i said , i am done.

boy oh boy Dennis

I've never seen such an attack from a first time poster

Must have one hell of an agenda

This is Bull**** at its best

azgearpro,

No one is talking about Bill because he is from Canada, who cares where he is from?? Canadians are not the enemy, if I'm not mistaken it is the Talaban that we have the problem with. Well the debate has run it course and I will have to say it has been very interesting. I have enjoyed it very much:), and I think we have all come to the agreement. No matter which converter you go with, there are good points and bad points about all. As long as you have made the best decision for your application and it works to you specifcations then you have made the best choice of all:cool:. Everyone keep up the good work and I will see you all on the next debate:). On a final note, I think the TDR is a great site as well. If anyone gets a chance also check out www.diesel-central.com it is cool site too! Alot of good debates also:D

Bill,

Good luck with your Ford TC;) I am sure we will have a debate on that as well, another time another place.

Bob,

As the old saying goes... Sometimes you gotta stomp through the mud to get to the picnic, and I really like picnics:)

Boy oh boy! I did not intend for this to happen. Things got a little out of hand. I am a buyer who wants a good product. I researched the web and the TDR about TC's for our trucks. I looked at different company's products, their customer help reputation, different people's experiences with the products, and I looked for what I was wanting out of a TC. I freely chose to lean toward Bill K. 's product. Bill seems to be very knowledgable about his work. He is not out just to sell a product. He wants you to be happy whether that means buying something from him or not. Bill actually did not want me to buy one of his converters because he knew I would be unhappy with it and the set-up I have. Bill even offered to custom make one for me if I decided to go ahead and buy one anyway. He offered to let me try it and not charge me for my core until I determined if I liked the TC or not. If I did not like it I would send it back. If I did like it, I would send in my core. Bill trusted me to do this and he doesn't even know me. That ranks pretty high in my book. I don't want to sound pro-Bill K. and anti- Sun Coast, BD, etc. I like options. I opted for DTT. Everyone is entitled to make their own decisions.

Also,

One post was entitled "redneck". I hope that was not said because Dennis is from Kentucky. I'm from the same state.

We do have mountains in KY. The hills on I-75 @ Berea and Mt. Vernon can really drag down a truck when towing.

The truck is a '90 Dodge with a '97 motor and a '90 3-speed auto.

Bill,

I am going to take out the 3. 08's and go to 3. 54's. When I get this done, I'll get back with you.

#1. I'm not here to bash anyone, I want to learn like everyone else. #2. "Dperry1", you're right. As long as the customer is happy then it doesn't matter if it's a billy bob converter. But, just because someone is happy when it's installed doesn't mean that they'll be happy a year later. I've seen a lot of people go to DTT from other companies. There's always an aftermarket TC on the classifides for sale. Swamp Donkey has one now, it's a BD for a 96 to 98. It was in a 98. Stephan Kondolay had to tell him what years it would work in because BD's answering people didn't know. Look at the 12v forum if you don't believe me it's under... What year will my TC & VB fit?. The reason for these converters being sold is always the same reason, they're now using DTT. I have yet to see a DTT converter for sale because somebody went to another company. I'll admit, any aftermarket converter is probably better than stock, but if you want the best... well you know. I was just wondering, does anyone else have an uprate kit like Bill does? You know for the lip seals, etc... . ? Maybe someone does, I dunno, I'm just curious. Everyone I've talked to hasn't mentioned it except Bill's people. Thanks for the info about the competition, I think that Bill posted an open invitation to anyone the last time there was a debate... It never happend, nobody accepted the challenge. Good luck with your trucks and try to get a few more miles out of a set of tires then I do... . 8k on this set... If so much rubber just wouldn't stick to the road when I take off. . ;)

Actually, yes it would (assuming you know how to properly engineer the stator design to take advantage of the material). [Interestingly enough, only the aerospace industry and bicycle manufacturing companies know how to properly use this material... it seems all other applications of this material is utilized by companies that don't quite have a firm metallurgical grasp on the proper engineering of this material. ] Cost of producing a titanium stator?... . right out the window!:eek: Actually, carbon fiber may be a promising material for stator construction in the future... this material possesses almost all of the positive attributes required for a state of the art stator without extreme cost of manufacturing it (assuming a decent production run can be assured).
