I wonder where my 3 disk Suncoast would fit in on % wise ???

Every gear hits kind of hard but nothing like OD ... OMG its kind of scary WOT SSSSSSHHHHHHHAAAAAAAABBBBBBBBLAAAM ! All in about 1/10 of a second . Not sure if thats prolonging the life of my trany or not ... LOL thats why I put it in .

Oh Well At least when it wants to shift now it shifts and dont do that taking its time do I want to shift up??? or down??? or just inbetween for a bit... it just shifts and gets it over with .

I wonder if anyone has put a hydrostatic on a CTD that would be awesome ... wouldnt it???

think of the transfer sled pulling and drag racing capibillities just one big lever and you just push on it easy till its maxed out..... thats too cool... . Ive made up my mind Im putting a hydrostatic trany in my truck

LOL

Question ????

Where do you guys get the "%" from ???

99% DTT

79% DTT

And so on ??

DieselMinded

Just get one of the multi disk units (from a vendor of your choice) lock it up in second gear and you will always get 100%. There isn't anything like a 2-3 and 3-4 shift with the TC locked. All of the power gets to the ground not just a % of it.

NADP Heavy Hauler 91% Shifts pretty solid under linght acceleration, but when you stand on 'er it doesn't seem quite as harsh, I love it.

Low RPM locked and shifting locked up, can break the flex plate and shafts.

It's best to limit it to a few times.

Shifting is best when it is in fluid coupling.

EXCEPT for competition.

I was just looking at the DTT site and their prices are not bad at all. Suncoast wanted just under $1400 for their convertor, while DTT is $975.

I'm running a rebuilt stock convertor. It's not too bad without a load, but pulling a trailer, it's horrible.

I had the BD converter, valvebody and pressure lock installed in stock transmission. It too, shifts firm under light accel and not as firm under hard accel I love it. When lockup in OD happens :D . Have your hat cinched down it is fun but not harsh. Does anyone know what % the BD converters are?No difference in shift quality with or without trailer on back also, thats what I like the most from it.

I now have the 91% Triple Disk & complete SunCoast trans with the hardened shafts, after tinkering with my TV cable I now have it adjusted to my preference she is some kinda sweet, hits Drive, 2nd to 3rd & OD hard but smooth no slip I like it. She also shifts down the same way, awesome. I lock up at 32 MPH between 2nd & 3rd.

It is basically just like my ATS except it was a 93% torque converter. My ATS Stage IV was an excellent trans which served me well, if I get 180,000 miles out of this one I may get me new truck.

I'd suggest getting a price quote from Goerends, for his triple disc. IIRC, mine was about the same as DTT, maybe a bit less.

$1400 For SC? What, is it made of gold?
