My 2003 with 212K on the clock has a problem with the torque convertor. Sometimes it will not unlock unless I slip it into neutral. The truck is used mostly for highway use and pulls trailers that weigh less than 9000 lbs occasionally. I have used Amsoil synthetic ATF since the first full fluid change and it still seems to shift fine. I have had the torque convertor lock up solanoid changed and saw no improvement.

I also have an occasional problem with the cruise control cutting off (light stays on on the dash) and I am getting a "lamp out" warning occasionally.

Any suggestions? Could any of these problems be related?

Might be an intermittent short or ground. Check the wires going to the AC compressor for wear at the boost tube going to the intercooler.

Thanks Akamac and Woodchuck,

I won't get to play with the truck until the weekend but I will check out your suggestions. I have had the solinoid replaced thinking it might be the problem but no change. I am going to go to a autoparts store and get the codes read. I'll also check for a wire shorted out going to the AC compressor. Another thread suggested the APPS might be going out. I'll check that too. Thanks to both of you for the help!
