Front mount hitch

This is probably a pretty stupid question. But will the torque converter lockup in 1st or 2nd ? Or does it have to be in 3rd to lockup ?

Thanks,

TRat

Thanks for the reply. Im not sure what a "mystery switch" is. Will a stock 48re lock up in 1st and 2nd by itself ? Or does it need the "mystery switch" ? Is the mystery switch a kit that I can buy, or just something that is wired in ?

Thanks,

TRat

48re locks up in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th with a mystery switch

The torque converter in my '03 with a 48RE locks up in second gear if it is manually shifted into second gear, but not first gear. It locks up in third gear if the "O/D Off" button is used.

I have a stock 2002. It locks in 3rd and 4th only in stock trim. One reason that we can't have exhaust brakes without Mystery switch or modding the trans.
