I was told that you can take the fuel plate right out and it would be the same as a #10 plate. I am really sceptical about this because it dosnt seem right i was just wondering if this is really true.

From what I have read, it would be closer to a 0 (flat ground plate). There are a number of threads on here that warn about possibly causing damage by running without any plate at all.

Yea, not a good idea to run without a plate. . might be shopping for a new pump though lol. .

take out your plate, and grind a half moon in it. . then taper off flat the top portion of the moon (towards mounting holes), and you`ll have a #100 plate, the best there is IMHO...

good luck

Never heard of a missing plate hurting a pump. From what I understand the plate just limits rack travel. Taking it out allows full fuel.
Warning- stock auto or stock clutch will not hold it down. Makes 'em come alive!!

bunch of nubies here huh... noooo offense. THINK ABOUT IT. if you had no plate then what could happen to the rack, it could fall out... as the person above said. . start shoppin for a new pump, your askin for it!, if you want power grind it flat, maybe a few taperedness aloud??? but leave a minor bump at the bottom to allow rack from falling out.

yep noob. but i ve been trolling here for quite some time before i bought my '94 and decided to pony up a subscription LMAO. i think the rack issue is more prevalent in non plated guys being that the #0 doesnt have a hook and still seems to work ???

OK girls, a 0 plate will NOT allow full rack travel w/o AFC mods. And w/ a 10, 100, or zero plate full forward, the gov arm will be riding on the AFC foot (w/no AFC mods) in the deepest part of the plate. So what does it matter if there is a plate or not?

well as far as being a newbie. Im only 17 and i am not planning on taking the plate out i was just curious on what would happen.

lmao... fall out?!?!? then why do we replace the front plug with the Mack plug that allows more rack travel?

lmao @ calling people "nubies" (do you mean "newbies"?) when you have no idea how a P-pump works

it doesn't... bunch of magazine racers regurgitating false information! LOL

I bet they think that high drive pressure kills head gaskets because they read it somewhere! :-laf

Get 'em, Forrest, Get 'em!!!

This has been my single biggest problem with this, or any, forum... ... people saying things like it was the gospel truth, written in stone, and they don't know what they're talking about.

I know fellas who have run many miles with no plate with no pump problems. Does that mean I took mine out? No, there are better ways to good, usable power than just taking the plate out.
