torque spec. question

Does anyone know what the torque value is of the nut on the alternator pulley? I have searched the manual high and low and do not see any reference to this. The pulley is not a seperate service/sale item thru DC.

I think Piers would say the torque should be, "Good and tight".

Tighten until the bolt snaps off... . then back off 1/2 turn. :{



Actually I don't see a torque spec in my factory manual either.

I was given the "handle" Shovel-Ed by the guys I ride with.

It refers to the nickname given to the H-D engines produced from 1969 til about 1984, ie Shovelhead.



"Old Blue" = my '76 FLH
