Torque Tube Question

There is a post out there right now from Tomeygun regarding preferences of torque tubes. My question is can a torque tube be used in conjunction with a stock airbox? I cleaned out that intermediate tube of the "plus sign" plastic pieces but feel that the ribbed interior could still cause air to tumble un-necessarily before hitting the turbo. Part of thoughts here is I spent $90 on a factory replacement AFE 7 air filter for the stock box. Any thoughts here? If anyone out there can also tell me what choices I have and where I could go to them on the net would be very appreciated. I have limited access to an internet connection so I have to make the best use of that time.

I have a question kinda on the same line. I have the BullyDog RFI intake system and was wondering if the torque tube and pro-guard 7 could be used in conjunction with the air box?

I have an AFE Torque Tube, I have used it on the stock air box and the AFE Magnum Force Air Intake. I have used the stock tubing on the AFE Magnum Air Intake also.

But, will the torque tube work with the RFI intake box?

This is for Jvolpe. Did you have to do any mods to use the Torque Tube with the stock air box or was it a direct "bolt in"? I had contemplated making my own out of PVC pipe to replace that plastic piece in the intake system but the heat of the exhaust manifold and turbo have made me a bit gun shy.

My torque tube was a plug-n-play with the stock box. The torque tube has the same end points as the stock tubing and rubber boots.

That bad boy came out about two weeks ago. Still not loud enough but it sounds good!

The torque tube will with any stock air box, and any aftermarket intake that will mount up to the stock intake hose.

How much louder does it get with the torque tube. I guess what I should be saying is which one is the quietest and which is the loudest? Is it turbo whine sound or??

If anyone would like a aFe torque tube I have one that I ordered for somebody and then he changed his mind at the last minute and I have nothing to do with it. It is brand new, never used. I can give you a good deal. Thanks.
