Anyone running a torque tube on a second gen? Wondering if aftermarket turbo will make any difference in running the tube. I heard from a very knowledgeable mechanic that it will make no change or difference.

I ordered one about two months ago and it never came, but now two months later the charge ($117) for the tube appeared on my credit card statement and the dealer says that it's on its way. I don't really think I want it anymore (due to the wait and the info from the mechanic), but want to get feedback from anyone who might have experience with the tube. Will I gain anything (noise, performance, etc) besides the look of it, if I keep it and run it on my truck?

on my 04. 5 i had a gain in spool up time with the stock turbo and my WSB. Although both were pretty fast before. and come to think of it i never ran the WSB without it. Mine is the first metal pipe not the knew plastic one.

I did run the stock turbo with and without. I say it made enough of a diff to keepit. It also made the whine a little louder. But for the money i could have just used a section of 4" mandrel bent pipe.

I have one on my 01, connected to aFe Stage 1 and HTB2 62-12. My only reason for buying was to get rid of the accordian rubber stocker, i. e. , just for looks. No expectation of any other benefit, and have experienced none.
