Howdy, folks. I was going to install a set of Sylvania Silverstar bulbs for the headlamps last night. Found out I don't have a torx wrench to fit the bolts. The bolts appear to be 10mm, but the outboard one is a little hard for me to get to with a socket. Figured I'd just buy the appropriate torx, if someone could tell me what it is.

Also, on that outboard bolt, is there anything tricky about removing it? It seems to go through some funky kind of clip.

thanks, bws

For anyone interested, the Torx is a T30. I bought a set of the larger sized torx bits for use with a socket wrench. The task would be simpler if you had one of those long, T-handled torx wrenches.

I used my 1/4 inch drive socket set with a 10mm socket and extension to remove the 3 bolts. The 1/4 drive fits between the headlight and bumper without interference. Place a towel over the bumper when you do the job because the headlamp assembly need a little tugging to get it out and you don't want to scratch the paint on the bumper.

I had only a 3/8-in drive and had to press down on the bumper to keep the extension from hitting the bumper. More significantly, the adapter for the torx bit happened to be right where it would hit the bumper. Mildly annoying. A towel would have been a good idea.
