hello, i have already cut my factory fuel plate and slid it forward, i liked the power increase... i just recently talked to my mechanic and he told me he removed his totally and got even more power... . is this really possible? havent ever heard anyone talk about this... . thanks for any info...

96 2500... 4 inch exhaust. . modified fuel plate... .

With no plate your rack can smack the stop pin and break it. That pin is just inside the governor. With it flying around inside the governor housing, you can take out your governor and cause catastrophic damage. I know. Mine's in the shop now being repaired due to a broken stop pin, but not from running with no plate, rather apparently from the shut off lever being out of whack and allowing the rack to hit the pin at engine shut-down time.

Find a way to create and/or set a plate that will stop rack travel at just short of its max to avoid hitting the pin.

Just grind the plate flat, about 1/8" above the lowest point. walla, a #0 plate...

IMHO, a flat plate doesnt do much for the natural HP curve of our engines, nor for EGTs. . but thats just my opinion. .
