I just finished upgrading my truck with radiator, intercooler, boost tubes from a second gen truck, a HE351 turbo with Jacobs exhaust brake, and a custom made twin intake.

I started with a radiator support from a gas truck and did cutting and welding to make the new radiator and intercooler fit, the new radiator is 10 inches wider then the old one tank to tank, so I widened the air opening by 4 inches so the whole core as air flow, I also moved the battery tray 2 inches to left side of the truck to make room for the radiator.

No I kept the first gen ac parts I didn't want to change all the lines, and the 2nd gen. condenser I had was damaged.

I didn't think about it but you guys might like these details, the intake horn is made from 3in stainless steel exhaust pipe welded to a 1/4 base plate that I had milled to make sure it would seal, and it sits on top of two intake grid heaters, with one grid in each box hooked up so it still cold starts. I reused all the high presser fuel line claps with a little work to some of them. the left intake tube is stock second gen, the right one I made more from the same exhaust pipe I made the intake from. The fan shroud, rad. hoses, and over flow bottle are all stock second gen. Now for performance details EGTs top out at 1200 in 5th gear on a hill at full throttle, engine temp never goes passed the first mark on the temp gauge. max turbo out put is 39 psi, the exhaust brake works but leaves a little to be wanted. I haven't run it enough yet to tell what it dose it for fuel mileage.

Hopefully i can find a gen 2 cooler for conversion , if not i hope it wont matter a bunch with a gen 2 engine from a 94

I think that depends on how much fuel you are pushing in to it, I know of a few intercoolers in junk yards around here but I guess that dosen't help you much.

RH, nice work. What exhaust do you have on there? Where does one find a Jacobs brake nowadays? Is the Jacobs working out for ya? How did you modify the downpipe to allow installing the brake? I like how you did the grid heaters, by the way.

My exhaust is 4in turbo back that I made from the factory exhaust off of an 04 3500 with the muffler and cat cut out, the turbo, exhaust brake, and down pipe flange are all also from an 04, for the down pipe I took the top of the factory 04 down pipe, and added a 90 bend from local truck shop to the bottom to line up with the rest of the pipe. The brake could work a little better it dosen't really slow me down a lot but it dose keep me from gaining speed going down hill. I'm going to try to get more vac. presser to it to see if that makes it work better. As far as getting one call cummins or there are aftermarket ones out there (BD diesel, and Pac Brake are the two big ones I know of. )

Just to clarify, the Jacobs used on the Dodge is an exhaust restriction brake, not a true Jacob's engine brake like used on big cubic inch Cummins and Cats... . I haven't seen one for the first gen truck kits for sale in quite a long time. Not saying they're not out there.

I can still get the BD and Pac brakes from my wholesalers... . The run around $725+Ship... . I'd also suggest to anyone installing one heavier exhaust valve springs. They make a great difference in the performance of your brake.
