While dropping a friend off to get a new muffler at Midas Muffler today I saw a '97 CTD Ram owned by GTE up on the rack and went in to check it out. It was hooked up to a Transmission Saver machine, the tech had just finished sucking the old fluid out and running some solvent though the AT,you could see the dirty solvent thru a glass part of the machine,it was very dirty. While the tech was telling me how great this machine is he removed the pan to change the filter,he was wasting his time, the filter and pan bottom were absolutely spotless. Next step was to pump in new fluid, the machine removes 100%. I was impressed. Cost for a Ram AT is $150 including fuild, filter and band adjustment, they will knock the price of the ATF off if you want to add synthetic and supply it yourself. Seems like a good way to go if you want to go with syn oil. Anyone ever try this system?
