Tour of St. Louis plant when they start to build the new 03's

Anybody connected and can setup a tour for TDR members of the St. Louis plant, when they start making the new 03 CTD's. I live outside Springfield but would drive to St. Louis for a tour. I bet there are several members within driving distance that would be interested.

I am a Dodge dealer in Hermann, Mo. They let us tour the plant when the new 1500's came out and it is amazing, that place is a modern marvel. i don't think they let the public in for tours but I can do some asking about it at the zone office.

That would be great. I was just thinking that the TDR should have some kinda pull with Dodge since they have over 10,000 Dodge truck owners.

I drove by the plant once while on vacation. At the time I had a 98 ctd automatic. It was kind of neat driving by the place where the ram was born.

OK, I just got off the phone with a lady from the truck plant, Terry,

she said that the President of the Turbo Diesel Register has already been in the works to have a Turbo Diesel Rally near august-september, depending on how well the launch goes.



That rally will include tours, lunch, etc...



Hope that it becomes reality!

Thanks Tomeygun. That would be a lot of fun. It also makes sense. I would think Dodge would want to have an open house for their largest group of owners. Please keep us posted and if anyone else in the TDR has any info on this please add it to this thread.

The rally they are talking about is the August national rally that's going to be at the Columbus, IN Cummins Mid Engine Plant August 14th-18th - you can find the details here https://www.turbodieselregister.com/2002Rally/RallyIndex.html . It will include a tour of the Cummins plant but AFAIK there are no plans for a tour through the Dodge plant (it's quite a drive for one, Dodge hasn't invited us for two). Robert is working on getting Dodge involved at the national event though.

Hey guy's guess what? There having plant tours for the sales consultant's and Dealers again in april. I can't wait, they said they will be running some pilot's of the H. D. 's through so we get to see them being builtOo. Then there going to have some completed one's for us to crawl all over, I can't waitOo. Oo. Oo.

Do like TDR did in 1995 & 1996 with the second generation trucks. The first Rally was at Columbus in 1995 with a tour of the engine plant and the second was at St Louis in 1996 with a tour of the truck assembly plant.



A repeat in '02 & '03?

I agree with Bill and Larry. That would be worth the trip. Dodge might even sell some trucks

Yep, Dodge sold one to me after the '96 TDR Rally and factory tour. We got home and ordered a new '97 3500 Club Cab within a week after the Rally.



At the '99 Rally, I had no intention of a new truck until I drove a couple of the demo 6 speeds that were there. Shoulda' not done that!!! 30-45 days later I had an order in with my friendly Dodge dealer.



If there are demo '03 trucks at the upcoming Rally, I will have my wife tie my hands behind my back!!
