Well you are probably going to have to be a little more vendor specific. I think I have seen four different "Torque Tube" manufacturers now, maybe more. I have the AFE metal with rubber ends. It is not that loud, you just hear the turbo with it on.

I would like to hear the new AFE with the plastic torque tube and air intake made as one piece. I just dont want to pay for it.

I don't remember the manufacturers of the other tubes, one is chrome and pretty and the others are plastic that I have seen. I am sure that they are all functional.

I have had my torque tube on with stock air intake and with AFE intake. I have ran the AFE intake without the torque tube. I have EGT and Boost gauges and I really cant tell much difference with it on or off, except for the turbo whine.

I honestly dont really hear it much, but passengers sometimes comment on the whine. The Banks muffler kinda hides the turbo whine now.

The noise is about the same as a 03 I rode in that had the metal torque tube. This thing is smooth as glass inside and definately picked up responsiveness, ie: less lag. I love it! Here's some pics.

No, that's the new style stage I. It looks the same as the one I just got, except I got the metal tube. The stage II has a lid and a funky 5" to 4" pipe that's kinda flattened looking. I wasn't planning on buying one yet, but I had to get one before they went to plastic because I'm going to strip the silver painted parts and powdercoat them RED! :D I'll post pics when it's done.

Thanks guys. So which is better? And what is the price difference?

I 'm watching this to, I would like to keep the stock airbox and just install a torque tube and get rid of that funky baffled stock tube .

Part # and supplier?

Thanks Keith

I don't see any problem with just installing a tq. tube in place of your factory garbaged up one, I paid regular price fot the oloder tq. tube because I ordered mine between the split, so I don't know that the revised pricing is
