My grandfather recently purchased an 05 auto. It has about 600 miles on it. I have two questions:
•Why does the tow/haul mode disengage the first time you let off the throttle after pressing the button? In my 02, when you press the OD button, it stays out of OD no matter what... but in my grandpa's 05, it begins to shift into OD as normal once you let off the throttle the first time after pressing the button, but the "Tow/Haul" light stays lit on the dash. Is that normal? If so, how do you change it to act like a regular OD cutoff? It wouldn't be a problem, but that damn thing was letting my grandpa lug up a hill at 1200rpm with a 10k/lb 5'ver... I told him it was really bad for the transmission, but he was being stubborn.
•His truck makes quite a bit of white smoke when it starts in the morning. Is this normal, or should we look into a reflash?
