Installed Darin's steering fix last week (works great!!!). Just picked up a brand new set of factory tow hooks for $5 at a garage sale. I've also been thinking about getting a front receiver for getting the TT into the driveway.

Found a good looking front receiver hitch from Draw-Tite, but I can see from the installation instructions on their web site that the mounting holes will conflict with both the tow hook brackets on the front side as well as Darin's steering bar on the back mounting locations.

Anyone know of a front receiver hitch that will work with the steering brace AND the tow hooks? I'd like to do the tow hooks and the receiver hitch at the same time so I only have to remove the front (Sport) bumper once.

I don't know the answer to your problem, but I do know that the 1500 sports with tow hooks have a different bumper, it has a molded in recess so you may have to modify your bumper or the hooks to get the clearance, maybe like this (modified bumper). Don't pay attention to the things sticking out, that was an old project that I haven't finished. On a similar note does any know if the DSS will go on with no problems with a Fisher Minute Mount system on the truck? The Fisher mounting brackets are mounted under the sway bar against the frame.

Here's what it looks like from a distance, not too bad

I think if you have a front receiver, tow hooks would not be necessary. The receiver makes a great place to hook to for a tow hook mount. Also if I am not mistaken the Draw-Tite receivers have hooks built into them .

But will the steering fix work with a front reciever? They use the same mounting location, could one simply use longer bolts?
