Tow hooks

Were tow hooks a factory option offered by dodge. I saw a set that appeared to be factory , and was wondering if these could be ordered through mopar parts for my 2001

I see them on gas 1500 4WD Dodge p/u. You can fit them to ours but there is quite a bit of bracketry in there as well. Take a moment to look underneath one of them and you'll see what I mean.

BTW, Dodge wants a pretty penny for them too. I think you might be better served woth a hidden hitch mounted up front. Add a drawbar with a shackle, or even use one of the Warn shackle setups, and pull away.

I wound up choosing a Warn winch mount w/ a 2" receiver and wraparound guards.

I got them for Christmas. They were a snap to install - no drilling or anything. They are nice units - but they do go for about $135. give or take depending on the price you can get.

I like the front hitch myself. Looks real nice with the ram head hitch cover in it. It also held while a tractor pulled the truck and 5er out when we were stuck in the mud.

Hitch on a Sport Model

Anyone have some pics of a front hitch on a sport model frontend??



Love to see one and details of the install underneath. A nice hitch, TDR logo cover plate, hhmmmm. Now we have a good looking front emblem

Front Mount Hitch

I have the Draw-Tite front mount without the air dam (not a sport) so installation was just bolt-it-on. Cost was around $130. with shipping and you get a 2" receiver and tow straps at each end.



The factory tow hooks are nice but why would you want to pull from only 1 frame horn? If you still want them I would try mopar4less.
