Anybody know where good & strong front tow hooks can be found (other than the obscenely expensive ones at DC)?

Craig, I thought the same thing (regarding the price of the Mopar tow hooks), until I saw what you got for the money. The kit is extremely heavy duty; from the tow hooks right down to the mounting brackets and hardware. Very impressive.

I just put a draw-tite front receiver hitch on my truck last week instead of tow hooks. I have a clevis insert from warn that I just leave in there with a locking pin. The receiver was $135 and the clevis was $30 I believe. I think this is a better option personally as you are pulling on both frame rails as opposed to just pulling on one side. With the weight of our trucks I was worried about tweaking the frame.

Would it be necessary to notch the front air dam to install the front receiver?

I have the front mount receiver also and yes you would have to remove or cut the front air dam to install. FYI you will have to cut for the factory tow hooks as well. If I didn't want the receiver than I would go with the DC tow hooks.

You could either notch the air dam or remove it entirely. I personally think the truck looks better without it - makes it look taller. I've even read where some people found a mpg improvement by removing it. Don't know if I believe that one though so take it for what it's worth.
