The OEM tow hook kit is very good. However, if you ever want to add a grille guard, most of them won't allow you to keep the hooks. The only one I found was WAAG. Although you could technically use the factory tow hooks, thus fulfilling their claim, the mounting was very flimsy because it doesn't use the mounting bracket that came with the tow hooks. For an additional sum, they have a kit which reinforces the mounting, but I figured if they claim their guard is compatible with the factory tow hooks, then it should be just as strong as the OEM kit without having to spend extra. Anyway, after some cutting/drilling, I was able to mount the grille guard using the mounts that came with the tow hooks, but had to lose the air dam. It worked out pretty good.

I'm going with a front receiver hitch. I figure it'll be as good as the tow hooks and it will add a little versatility.

I got mine off e-bay. Do a search there may be more. I just got mine on about a month ago. I really like them. Sorry no pics yet.

This may not be what you want to hear but I remember reading a post about a couple of guy straightening out their hooks under heavy load.

I had always like the idea of a hook until a really thought about it. Not having to pass a cable through a ring but there are seemed to be a good idea. But there are problems with hoks too.

There are a number of advantages of a ring over a hook. A ring is much much stronger. It wil not straighten out. A slack working line will not accidentially slip out. And using a clevis you do not have to pass the cable through.

A buddy placed a clevis in his receiver hitch and put a wire tie on it to keep it from backing out.
