Hi everyone.

I was reading a automobile magizine the other day ( can't remember which one ) and they had some info on the cars and trucks for 04' that I found interesting. The mag stated that Dodge is offering a tow/haul mode in their full size truck transmissions but did not say if it was available in the 1500's, 2500's or both. Has anyone heard about this feature and if so how does it perform compared the the GM's

I may be in the market for a new truck and was thinking about a manual but if what the mag said is true I may just by a auto.

Any info is greatly appreaciated.

Best regards,

Kurt.

my 04 2500 has the tow/haul button. From what I read in the owners manuel, and my limited use of the button, it's just an OD on/off. I was hoping it was similiar to the Allison in the GMC! at this point I don't think it is!:(

I was told by dealer and from using it myself it seams to be just an OD off button like on the Ford. But just the other day my firend that had an 03 said that it acually changed the shift patterns and would acually shift into OD, put when I was towing my Ranger the other day I had it in tow/Hual mod and it was reving to high for my likes becuse it never went into OD so I tturned it off. I hardly use it now uless it would downshift when I punch it trying to pass people.

Thanks for the replies guys,

It looks like I might have to go with a manual after all. I was really hopeing that it was similar to the GM tow/haul feature but I guess not.

Thanks,

Kurt.

If you don't mind shifting and want to get an approved Jacobs e-brake, the NV-5600 is sweet. I couldn't be happier with mine:D .
