Just wanted to pass on a little info for those of you needing a mopar tow mirror glass replacement, a few weeks ago "jnelson" suggested automirrors.net, I checked them out and long story short, I got 2 replacement glass mirrors from them in 4 days which is darn good time coming to the rock, and it is the tow mirror with the convex portion cut out, now if you need them right away then I think a local glass shop would be better but I wanted spares for a little project expriment I'm going to try this weekend and if I jam up I'll have spare mirror heads. I'm not affiliated with them in any way.

Is this for the older style "west coast towing mirrors" or the new style like on my 02 (and my brothers 03)

Both of us would like to replace the glass on the RS with one of those "objects are closer then they appear" mirrors.

Its funny, when the convex mirrors first came out I hated them, now I see the Passenger side without one. Plus my 02 is not electrical adjust and the convex mirrors give you a larger field of vision.

Plus Dodge (and other manufactures) put the spot mirror in the wrong location.

Its in the critical vision area when folded up or down. I really like them in the lower inside when down, which would be the upper inside when up. Keep the outside clear so I can see

The glass is for the newer style flip up tow mirrrs that began on the 2000 model year I believe. The reason I got the spares is the same, I don't like where the convex is so I'm going to see if I can swap the drivers side inner housing to the passenger side and vice versa so I can have the convex in the outer lower edge when the mirror is down.

I had thought about swapping them too but then the convex part would be on the inside in tow mode. I'm getting used to the stock position.

I agree completely! Obviously the folks who did the mirrors at Dodge are "stylists" and have never driven a large truck with a long, wide trailer behind it. When you are trying to back a long trailer around a corner (like into a driveway) you need to use the part of the mirror that the convex is in. With a dually, the part next to the convex gives a nice view of the rear fender.

Also, by distorting the convex (not round) the view behind of one area is distorted differently (and hard to see) compared to another part.
