tow mode and lock out

I just purchased a new 07 will take delivery next week and was wondering if anyone can explain what goes on in the tow mode and lock out my 02 didn't have this feature and not sure I do have a 35 foot 5th wheel and GVW will be at around 21500lbs. One more question in general how has the 48RE transmission holding out

The way i understand it, when in the tow mode the shift points are automatically "readjusted " so as to provide better shift points when towing.

Am towing a 53' cargo trailer with mine and love it.
