Only by 100 pounds according to the Dodge '05 website. Just curious as to why? I had printed the tow ratings from the Dodge website for the '04's while I was waiting for the '05 stats.

Here is what the '04 site showed vs what the '05 site shows.

'05 3500 w/3. 73 = 14,250 (SRW Short Box)

'04 3500 w/3. 73 = 14,350 (SRW Short Box)

'05 3500 w/4. 10 = 16,250 (SRW Short Box)

'04 3500 w/4. 10 = 16,350 (SRW Short Box)

A used class 8 with 450 to 550 horse will run around $26K to $42K. That's with about 3/4 of the life left in the unit. Check out truckpaper.com

I don't think so, they are identical trucks
The 04 ratings are based on the early 04 trucks with the 235, 250, and 305 engines. The 05 ratings are for the current 325/600-610 engines, and thus include the additional weight from the cat-con and other changes introduced in 04. 5 and 05.

Thanks, that makes sense.
