There Oughta Be A Law...

Dinghy Towing 101?

Hope you don't mind answering a question for me, I Cant get a hold of My Dad and need some info soon.

My Truck is a 04.5, 2500 Quad Cab 4x2, Long Bed, 3:73 gear ratio, 48RE trans. (just like Dads at the bottom)

Dads Gooseneck Trailer is 7,000lbs empty, I want to put a load that's weight is 3,000lbs will the truck handle that? How much can the truck actually pull.

Sorry to bother you but I kind of need to get this done.

Thanks

Nathan

Thanks Nick

I was able to get a call thru to my Parents, Dad said he's put way!! more weight on that truck than what the factory said it could. He told me to use his truck because the trailer has electric/hyd disk brakes and it needs his on-board air compressor for the air-ride trailer suspension. And not to mention the amount of weight that he's had on it or there would be an ensuing argument as to if it was a smart thing to do.

He said that if all I was going to do was the weight mentioned above just drive like a human being and you'll be fine.

And that if I wrecked his truck & or trailer I had better start running NOW!!

Thanks again

Nate

Nick

Thanks for helping out My Son, he's not as into this kind of thing as most. He just didn't want to get into something over his head.

You should be pleased he's sharp enough to ask before doing something he's not sure of.

Mr Jhenderson

Nate & his Sister Nora have become more than I had ever hoped for them. Nate has proved his expertise in many different venues, one his Fireman knowledge, I use to think OK grab a hose and put it out, WRONG!! so many of the products will react differently there's a ton of things that US OUTSIDERS aren't aware of.

His Paramedic Knowledge is in my opinion his Best Skill, His Mother & I have seen videos of him in action when we went to the Firehouse to have a Holiday Dinner with him and the Firehouse Crew. The Station Capt. would always so us videos of what Nate did at work. It gave this Father a entirely different look at a Kid (for lack of better words) that had grown into a confident Man sure of his abilities right before my eyes. Some of the things I seen on the videos made me nervous about him and his job.

Now he's in Montana running a growing Cattle business learning with his Grandfather (which is a Pleasure to see) Has a Great Wife and two Sons to help out when their time comes.

Nora is just as competent at anything Medical, She started as a Flight Nurse for a Private Company flying wounded Military out of Saudi Arabia. Air Force asked Her to join the Air Force gave her a commission and she was a Flight Nurse crossed trained to a Surgical Nurse, some place in there she got a few titles LVN, RN, RSN a load more of them that this proud Father cant remember them all, Bottom line is she is a pretty smart Nurse that can and did anything in a Hospital. Until she met a Ophthalmologist ( thank you spell check) Married him and worked with him in Surgery until she decided to be a Mother and went to the Part time Military to finish her career and is raising her family almost next door to us in Seeley.

Penny & I never pushed our agenda on them, we gave them free reins on what they wanted to do, School was a freebie for them One went to USC the other UCLA Both!! Graduated with Honors. I was lucky to get out of High School, so this made me as proud as a Puppy with two Peckers to lick.

We all are still learning from each other everyday, Nate walked into the barn one calving season and caught me up to my shoulder in a cow vagina his eyes as big as pie pans and asked, What the Hell are You doing? Hoping I'm in the right Hole right now!! And Don't tell your Mom but I fell in love with this one. We laughed about that for the next couple of days helping first year heifers deliver calves together, something that neither one of us had thought of doing before a couple of years ago. Building barns, houses, shops and fixing most things that aren't metric is something that we work on together, Hunting is another Father, Son, Daughter, Mother thing that draws us close.

Watching Nora be a Mom and Wife is without words, so I wont even try. But is as tough as nails and backs down from Nobody, not even her Husband.

So Mr Jhenderson when you said:

You should be pleased he's sharp enough to ask before doing something he's not sure of.

I'm Pleased for sure, but not surprised!! he has Common Sense and that's not so common in younger people today

Nate could use some more mechanical skills, Nora could use some more compassion in her heart.

He's been at our home taking care of things his Sister doing my everyday chores and taking care of her Family so that their Mother, Aunt & I can do some traveling and enjoy some warm weather, When we talked last it was a cold as a Well Diggers AXX at home, it was 80* in Oahu Today, sitting by the pool watching some of the more spectacular visions of loveliness walk by, while sipping on a fruity drink with an umbrella in it, sending a message is RELAXING!!! :D
