Has anyone had experience towing with EDM mach 3 injectors? What are the temps. like? Should I go with the 2. 4's instead?

Well I don't tow much and I don't have Mach 3's but those are some big injectors. I think you will have to leave your Comp set very low or off to keep the heat down. Especially if you tow something big.

I guess I should have been a little more clear. I would like to tow with comp box on level 1 with Mach 3 injectors. My trailer is about 10K and I rarely tow in overdrive so that also help temps. Just wondering if that scenario would be possible with that big of an injector. I did not have a problem with DD'2s and my little HY35.

Well with that info you might be okay, but there is a big difference between DD2's and Mach 3's. The 2's are 90 HP and the Mach 3's are around 130 (if I remember correctly). I have heard the mach's run cooler. Whats the worst that could happen, you would have to turn off the comp sometimes.

Hopefully someone with more info will chime in here.

What altitude are you at?

W/ my Mach 3's and KSB1-2 (before I changed housings) at 4000' elevation, with a ~5000 lb snowmobile trailer on behind me, my temps were pretty much outta control. Cruising at 55 MPH w/ box on 1x1 they sat at around 950-1050 (pre turbo). Start pulling a slight grade and they jumped to 1150-1200. Got to a large grade and they went to 1300 so I dropped to 3rd and sped up to 65 (kept turbo good and spooled) and they held around 1150.

This is just my experience. Ambient temps were probably 35-45*F. I had the Scotty II on at that time as well. I do think my pickup runs hotter EGT's than most others (valves not quite right I think) but not too much. Will definitely be getting a cam at some point in the future.

JMHO, but I wouldn't be trying to tow 10k w/ M3's at any altitude.

Josh

Edit to clarify: When I say "any altitude" I mean any high altitude, like over 1500-2000 ft elevation. Also, when I was pulling that trailer I had 4 grown men in the pickup, and a full 85 gallons of diesel, plus all our snowmobiling gear, spare tires, etc. Probably grossed around 13-14k.

I tow a 10K 5er in the summer. I am swapping to Mach 2. 4's for towing season.

dont push it especially with the HY35 turbo, you are past its limit

I no longer have HY35, I have the DD Jammer. So I better play it safe than sorry? Everyone wants their cake and eat it too.
