Towing Capacity for 93 250 4x4 Club Cab

Who knows the towing capacity for 1993 250 4x4 Club Cab automatic overdrive auxiliary transmission cooler with the 3. 54 axle ratios for pulling a 5th wheel travel trailer?



I'm wanting to buy a 5th wheel RV to replace our travel trailer. Does anyone have a comment on this setup?

Hey Big Blue, I don't know the capacity, but I have pretty much the same truck, same gearing and trans cooler, and I drag my trailer a few times a year, without any problems. My trailer is a 24' Prowler, and loaded it weighs about 7000lbs plus a bunch of junk in the back of the truck. I have seen my trans temp get up to 265 degrees which is way past a safe temperature, but I had nowhere to pull over. Make sure your running " new, clean" trans oil, and maybe a new or additional trans cooler, the type that have a built in fan with a thermo switch that will come at about 220-230 degrees. Hope this helps a bit.

Hey Blue I towed 6500 pound enclosed and a john deere tractor(A) 6900 pounds plus the trailer was 4500 pounds. I might mention this was not done at the same time! My trans temp never went over 180 and in OD all the time on the new york state thruway. Also i have no aux cooler only AMSOIL in motor and trans. I was running at 65 -70 on the flats with no problem. This sucker impresses the heck out of me. This truck will break the tires loose in the rain in drive at 40 miles an hour. Was going uphill the otherday in OD and she come around! These trucks are awesome. My truck is a 4x4 reg cab 3. 54 with 16 housing and pump@2-turns(trans, boost, pyro)

I also have the same truck as you, less the aux cooler. I pull a 31

ft. prowler travel trailer it weighs over 9k loaded. I have no problems whatsoever.

The brief answer is 14,000 GCW (combined truck and trailer weight).



That's the factory answer, mind you, and the one the lawyers will use. It will tow a whole bunch more than that.
