Who knows the towing capacity for 1993 250 4x4 Club Cab automatic overdrive auxiliary transmission cooler with the 3. 54 axle ratios for pulling a 5th wheel travel trailer?

I'm wanting to buy a 5th wheel RV to replace our travel trailer. Does anyone have a comment on this setup?

towing old school

I own a 1992 CTD since new and the the CGVW is only 12,000 plds. :--) I know that you don`t want to hear this but thats it with the auto. That means you can pull a 6,000 pld camper because your truck ways 6000 plds. :{ I did pull a 30 ft 5th but the problem is the transmission has no lock up and it will get hot. Put in syntecin oil maytec pan and watch transmission temps. Also pull on flat ground and take it out of overdrive under 60mph. Never let it hunt back and forth. The weak link is the overdrive unit. Oo.

I had a 93 and unfortunately 6000 is about rite but lots of folks have successfully pulled lots more. The biggest problem will be your transmission. Get it rebuilt by someone like DTT and you'll have no problems pulling much more.

if i am lying i am dieing! my buddy used to pull with his 89 a 450 JD dozer around town with no trouble what so ever. that truck is still working today and has had 2 d/f rearends and one transmission. engine still running good. it has worked everyday since bought new in 89. that truck is the reason i own a dodge today!

The Company I use to work for had a 92 CC 4x4 250 that started out as my work truck. Had 219,000 on it when I got the truck and it was an Auto, stock power and nothing other than regular maintence had ever been done to it. This company was in the Snow Cat business, before I got and even after I got it it hauled 20k-25k loads all day long and while it was pretty doggy it did it. This truck was cared for but worked HARD! Thats when I became a believer in the Cummins/Dodge Trucks!!
