Towing Flip Up Mirrors

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
I bought some 2000-2001 year model flip up OEM mirrors on ebay for $200. They fit perfect on my 94 3500 and work great .

If anybody interested the seller is " daveydodge " Evidently he works at a Stealer. He sells the mirrors and sometimes the Fog Lamps.

I have no affiliation with daveydodge. Fair Price , Great Product

Got em in anticipation of buying a 5er and joining you guys.

When you install them would like to hear on any problems you had ie taking the door panels off' Good luck and safe towing

No real problems! Just very intensive. Had to chase the wiring down and cut out the door panels for new speakers. The OEM speakers were not marked for + or - and my Haynes manual did not go that deep. I installed JBL speakers as a replacement. Along with new/ used radio AM/FM Cassette player. Bought that on Ebay as well for $40 out of a 1999 or 2000 Ram.

My radio died about 2 years ago!

The mirror package came with 6 new door flute holders!! Don't know if that is what they are called or not?? The little plastic things that clip your door panel to the body. Just be careful and you will be OK. Reused several of the old plastic flute holders and they seem to work OK. The stealer wanted $1. 50 each for these things and there are 10 or 12 per door panel!!!!!

I had my entire interior, dash panel, door panels, B pillar panels, out for some 2 weeks till all parts got in. Got it all together tonight and it looks great, sounds great.

If you proceed good luck!!!!!!

Wished I had a CD/ CASS/ AM / FM but they run $250 - $350 on Ebay. Guess I will wait till this one dies and buy an aftermarket radio at that time.

Hope this helps

speaker polarity

Dullpain,

You can determine the polarity of a speaker by using a D cell. Just connect it across the speaker and notice which way the cone jumps. If it pulls in you have the positive battery post on the positive terminal of the speaker.

BARRY - Go to Ebay Motors, Parts and Accessories, Parts Car & Truck, Audio. Once in Audio do a search for Dodge am fm .

That will return several with CD. Send me your email address and I will send you the auctions as I find them.

Some on right now are. Item # 1862872162 , 1863454299, 1863095401, 1863216841

At Ebays home page you can click the search button, and then select a search by Item Number, plug in the numbers above one at a time and it will send you to the auction.

good luck - let me know how it works out for you.

Have done the battery thing in the past as last result to determine polarity. Don't really like to as it sends the coil into outer space. If you have to do it that way I like to use a AA or AAA cell that is ALMOST dead.

Some of the radios have a pinout label on them that shows everything including the speaker polarity. I found one of those pinouts and indentified that way. Took maybe 10 minutes.

If anybody needs the pinout ID for a radio that has 2 each 7 pin connectors, one black, and one grey let me know I can save you some time.

Re: speaker polarity

I thought a positive peak in the sine wave from the radio amp "pushed" the cone out? which would mean that if the battery positive was on the positive speaker post the cone would push out, or jump torwards the side that faces into the truck.
