Thouhts on tires.

Thoughts on the Michelin LTX A/T 2 tire - for towing and general use.

Im going to be going over the pass in a few weeks. Ive never towed down hill in the snow before. I understand it is a good it to chain up the tires on the TT. So, my question is, do I just chain the rear wheels ? Both front and back ?
Thanks

If you anticipate having to install chains I suggest you remove the plastic pieces above the tires before you leave home.

Nothing quite like watching the rear end of your RV passing you. Gives you quite a thrill and a stained seat. I to would chain all tires, they all have brakes.

You also do not want of have sway control device tightened down very tight, as you want the combination to bend easily in corners, and not stay stiff as a single unit that will cause steering issues in low traction conditions.

I would be surprised that you would see snow in the Cascades this early in the winter. We did hear that Stevens Pass got some snow already.

We spent many winters towing snowmobile trailers over the passes in Washington. I would not want to be up there with a travel trailer. Clue, people on Snoqualmie drive crazy in the winter!!!!!

In our many trips between Washington and Arizona, twice South bound in late December we went to the coast to bypass the Siskiyou's. On one trip North we crossed the Siskiyou's on Arpil 1st the only day it did not snow there that week.

If there is snow, think Motel!

Im actually not too worried about the pass. Im going to be up hunting and Im more worried about coming down from the mountain that is, I think, about 5k feet where I will be. It has snowed on me there before
