You also do not want of have sway control device tightened down very tight, as you want the combination to bend easily in corners, and not stay stiff as a single unit that will cause steering issues in low traction conditions.
I would be surprised that you would see snow in the Cascades this early in the winter. We did hear that Stevens Pass got some snow already.
We spent many winters towing snowmobile trailers over the passes in Washington. I would not want to be up there with a travel trailer. Clue, people on Snoqualmie drive crazy in the winter!!!!!
In our many trips between Washington and Arizona, twice South bound in late December we went to the coast to bypass the Siskiyou's. On one trip North we crossed the Siskiyou's on Arpil 1st the only day it did not snow there that week.
