I recently acquired a set of Dodge towing mirrors. (The kind that flip up for towing). Since my truck came out with heated and cab adjustable mirrors, does anyone see a problem with these? Any special tools, procedures etc. that I need to know? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks:cool:

The only special tool that I used was a door trim removal tool. This is available at most parts stores or you can get it off of your local tool truck like I did.

Make sure that you have enough Christmas tree fasteners to replace the ones that are removed with the door trim. They usually get destroyed during removal of the door panel.

Other than that it should be pretty easy to do.

I just did the conversion to power and heated towing mirrors on my '01. Best bomb to date.

I put a set on my truck. dont know what year yours is but all you have to do is take out 4 screws: one in the front corner trim piece, two in the bottom of the door, and the one that holds on the door handle. after removing all four screws just lift the panel upwards and not out. unclip the harness for the mirror. they dont use the push pins anymore so you dont have to worry about that. after that is removed take off the three nuts and then unclip the wiring harness (in the middle of the three nuts) this harness is also clipped in the door. install new mirror. pretty easy, i did mine in about 1/2 hour. really like the larger mirrors.
