Towing mirror light mod

Has anyone seen anything on making a 17 model 3500 tow mirror light full time running lights and signal lights.

I’ve seen some people try with AlfaOBD, but I don’t think it’s been possible.

There is a wiring kit available. I'd have to google it again to find the link, but it is available. It looked too involved for my taste: pull the door panels; enlarging holes for additional wiring harness; splice in the new wiring harness. Once it was all spliced in, the mirror's turn signal became a clearance light.

Personally, I have no desire to cut and splice any factory wiring. If I was simple plug and play and easily reversible, I'd maybe do it.

There are some instructions on it and it looks fine, but, like I said, it just wasn't for me. Really, really wish it could be done simply through the CAN BUS.

That's not too bad of a job for version-2, that's the video I watched. If you had the connector terminals and crimper you could make it look factory.

You could just buy the mirrors. They sell them for almost 750$. Check the links.
