I'm starting on a search for a good set of towing mirrors for my 08 2500 SLT. The mirrors it came with are the standard fold in mirrors. After hooking up to a 5th wheel a couple of times, I've realized how beneficial extending mirrors would be. The towing thing is very new to me, and I'm looking for some suggestions for a good set of towing mirrors. From what I've seen, there are slip over stock mirrors, manual replacement mirrors, and power replacement mirrors. I see Genos has CIPA mirrors. Are they a good option? What other good options are out there?

I put CIPA power mirrors from Geno's on my 2nd gen after trying a variety of add ons that never worked quite right.

I have the factory towing mirrors on my current truck. The CIPA's were just as good or maybe even better. Well worth the cost, they bolted right on and the electrical connectors plugged in so the power function worked.

I bought a pair of Cipa's from Genos years ago for my 01 2500. They are elec adj and heated. To extend them is a manual process. I couldnt be happier with them and cant imagine there being better ones but dont know since they are the only ones aside from stock that I have used. Many years ago you used to hear a bit of grumbling from some customers with the pass side mirror vibrating. Mine has done it but it is very minimal and does not do it at all most of the time certainly less than some of the old posts would indicate. The only negative I have on them is once I installed them my family considered my truck to have dumbo ears. However function over form for me anytime when it comes to safety and while they are bigger than stock and a bit dumbo ish I could care less I think they look just fine.

I was considering the replacement CIPAs, but wasn't even considering diminishing resale value as Prairie Dog pointed out. That's not a huge concern as I don't have immediate plans to part with the truck, and I could always keep the stock mirrors around. Does anyone have experience with these: CIPA TOWING MIRRORS (03-09)-Geno's Garage I was thinking I could remove them when not towing, which is still relatively rare for me at this point.

I use a pair of the CIPA mirrors from Gino's that you have in your link. The description of them is very accurate. they are better than nothing and you still have to be on top of your game when you do a lane change.

I have PowerVision mirrors on my '02. It's handy to be able to run them in and out. OUT with the camper and IN on gravel roads and ferries where they pack 'em on.

We purchased the Power Vision mirrors in January and feel they were a great addition to our 1996 Dodge 3500.
We had added extension mirrors to our standard Dodge mirrors years ago. They were ok but starting to show their age so we decided to bite the bullet and go with Power Vision.
Kind of pricey at $600. 00 but feel they were worth it. Dutch took his time [while recuperating from ankle surgery] and did a great job. It too him about 7 working hours to get the job done. We've towed over 6,000 miles since then and have had no problem. We both do like the fact then when not towing you just push a button and bring them in. Di
