I am installing 3rd gen towing mirrors on a 2nd gen, and I need to know the wiring diagram for the 3 wires for remote control (they are 5 wires but 2 blacks are for heat).

Anybody can lookup a manual quickly ?

Thanks

Here are the wire colors and cavities for the driver's side (left side) from my service manual. I have "decoded" them for you:

Cavity 1 (top row, leftmost when looking face-on at the connector) is an 18 ga. tan wire with a black stripe. It's function is "heated mirror relay output".

Cavity 2 is a 20 ga. orange wire with a yellow stripe. It's function is "left mirror common driver (right/down)".

Cavity 3 is a 20 ga. dark blue wire with a white stripe. It's function is "left mirror left driver".

Cavity 4 is a 20 ga. yellow wire (no stripe). It's function is "left mirror up driver".

Cavity 5 is a 20 ga. black wire with an orange stripe. It's function is "ground".

The remaining 3 cavities are unused.

Colors and functions on the passenger side (right side) are different. On that side:

Cavity 1 (top row, leftmost when looking face-on at the connector) is an 18 ga. tan wire with a black stripe. It's function is "heated mirror relay output".

Cavity 2 is a 20 ga. orange wire with a yellow stripe. It's function is "left mirror common driver (right/down)".

Cavity 3 is a 20 ga. dark blue wire (no stripe). It's function is "right mirror left driver".

Cavity 4 is a 20 ga. yellow wire with a black stripe. It's function is "right mirror up driver".

Cavity 5 is a 20 ga. black wire with a light blue stripe. It's function is "ground".

That's why I had problems, my wiring color is different. My towing mirrors have 2 blacks, blue green, and purple. Truck year 2003, diagrams from Dodge starts at 2004.

I've got the 2 blacks as ground and heat, and get mirror to move some but not all the directions.

What I am doing is swapping mounting base with a 2nd gen towing mirror, so I can keep the power and heat functions.

I'm doing mine this weekend and have the same wiring question. Let me know if some one comes up with the right color combination. Thanks, Rick
