Well, I put on the towing mirrors friday night. What a difference!!! I pulled an enclosed trailer through Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, (MA) on Saturday, and the mirrors made it much easier. See, the road are barely wide enough to fit the truck through. With the Mirrors, especially the convex portions, I was able to get through some spots with only a half inch to spare, and the mirrors made it look crystal clear. We actually measured the clearance at one point because it was so close to cars on each side. True, the tow mirrors are not power or heated, but it is worth the trade

A huge thanks goes out to MASSDIESEL for getting the mirrors overnight. I drove his truck with the tow mirrors and knew I had to have a set.

Hey Jeff,

Glad you like those mirrors, they really are great for towing.

BTW, did you take the bubble wrap off the glass:confused: I know you said it would protect the glass, but can you see out of them?:D

I took the bubble wrap off, but the pattern of the little bubbles is still on the glass. I tried glass cleaner, but it did not take the pattern off. I guess it will take a few claeanings

Jeff,

Be careful cleaning those towing mirrors!

I added a set to my truck 18 months ago. I cleaned the driver's side with RainX glass cleaner—this resulted in thousands of swirled scratches in the mirror surface that were only visible (and quite annoying) when I was driving with the sun almost visible in the mirror.

I talked D/C into a replacement and now only clean the mirror with soap and water or spray-type glass cleaner.
