Cipa makes xtendable trailer towing mirrors for the 02' with power and heat. I love the ones that I put one my truck they mount right where the stock ones do and they use the OME plugs.

I did mine the hard way... negotiated free towing mirrors on my wife's 03, when they arrived, installed them and she didn't like'em. I put the standard pwr/htd ones back on her truck and did the surgery to tranfer the 03 towing mirror heads to the 02 mounts, bought the factory toggle swith and heat switch and a whole day of work. Love the results.

Do our trucks have the wiring in place even if we don't have electric mirrors? If so then all that is needed would be the factory-style switchs to make them work?

SMoules, Thank you for the find ! I've been looking/hoping to find this very thing. I've been using those cheap slide over extension mirrors over my stock heated power mirrors every time I hook up to my 5th wheel and I hate them. You made me happy but my wife is a little ticked at you for making me spend $379. 00.
Regards, Mike.

SMoules,

If these are truly OEM quality (the pictures look good) and work as the OEM ones do, you've found an outstanding option to the DIY conversion. I just recently installed my OEM converted set and they're nice, but it was a lot of work hunting down the non-powered version for the bases and the proper (used) powered ones for the arm and mirror head, then doing the conversion work. I figure I have about $220 tied up in each of mine so these Kool Vue mirrors are a great bargain.

Wish I'd seen these 4 months ago!

Ordered a set myself... . NOW what about the ones for $667. 85 that has the turn signals AND extends out 21" They say these are for a 95-02 BUT we didn't have any turn signal capability - I'll bet that isn't a simple Plug and go assembly!

1994-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 - Replacement Driver Side Or Passenger Right Mirror

yuck, I guess if you wanted your truck to look like a Chevy they'd be alright

as for the power/heat OEM style, I can only assume that they are made by the same company that made them for Chrysler and they must have had a 5yr exclusive with Mopar that just ran out.

SO glad they're available too because doing the power/heat conversion is a PITA with OEM parts!

I changed out the stocks for the 3rd. towing mirrors and sure missed the power/heat feature on my '99. If available,it'll sure be welcomed.

Allnew2Me:

The factory wiring was in place on mine... the standard mirrors were power/heated. Wiring was in place for toggle control in the driver side and for the heater switch in the HVAC control. I think I paid $45 for the OEM toggle control and $140 for the HVAC control w/the heat switch in it. I sold the old HVAC control for $90. I wanted a stock appearance.

SMoules:

Thanks for the website... If I ever damage one of mine or one quites working, I have a place to replace the whole thing. I may not have performed taking the 3d gen apart to build the 2nd gen pwr/heated mirrors if I had to buy the 3rd gen set. And doing this w/ OEM parts is way hard and easy to damage the merchandise.
