i didnt order my pickup with the dodge towing mirrors cause they arent power and heated

Who makes a good set that are affordable and look nice???

I like the ones I saw on the red dually in the Edge ad in the tdr

One option - the Powervision mirrors are power adjustable, heated and electrically extendable and retractable. They're not cheap, but they work very well.

Another option- as Rusty said... ... ... ... . but CIPA 10"X10" and extends 4 - 1/4". Geno's sells them (page 24 of catalog #37)but I got mine from Stylinconcepts.com. Forgot to look at your signature to see if you had stock electric/heated.

The one's in the Edge ad are the CIPA's like Geno's sells. I bought mine from Geno's and they installed complete in 40 minutes. No problems, just take your time with the plastic retainers. Dan

The PowerVision ones are by? DC? and therefore dealer parts department? My 2002 came with manual DC towing mirrrors. Not bad, but sure would like electrically adjustable and heated.

Here's PowerVision's website: PowerVision They're located in Pendleton, Oregon.

Some one told me that dodge was going to come out with a power/heat option for there trailer mirrors. Is this true or urban legend.

They did, and I have it, refer to my above post to see how to do it.

Geno's has the best price for the heated mirrors:) :)

X-Mount

I bought mine from here, http://www.automirrorsource.com/

Same company that makes the CIPA makes the X-Mount. They plug right into the factory harness for power and heat. The X-Mounts are generally cheaper than the CIPA brand. Why pay for the name when you can get the same mirror for less. Powervision are good mirrors but more expensive and you have to do some wiring.

Just received a set of the CIPA mirrors from Geno's. The quality seems to be what I expected for the price. One question I have, for those who have installed these mirrors, was the glass mirror piece attached when you received yours? Mine arrived detached. I have attached them in manor that would seem to be correct several times but it is very easy to pop them right out. The instructions don't mention anything about attaching the glass to the housing. I'm a little concerned as to what might happen if this large piece of glass were to pop out at 70 mph.

Thank you in advance for any light you might be able to shed on this.

Glass

Anglerman,

The glass comes attached except for the convex spot mirrors. If yours came shipped like that you need to make arrangements to ship that one back because it is DEFECTIVE.

The last thing you need to do is be towing and away from home and the mirror falls out going down the road. Personally I think they should have noticed that when they packaged them for shipment.

Good luck getting a new I'm sure other readers would be interested in hearing how they honor the warranty. The X-Mounts I know are lifetime warranty. CIPA should be the same.

Yeah, that's definately not right. I would definately send them back. At higher speeds (especially) the mirrors do shake and if the glass fell off during shipping I would definately think it will fall off once you have it's mass shaking at high speeds.

About the convex mirrors that come with it... Has anyone that's used these mirrors attached the convex mirrors to the inside of the mirror rather than the outside like the back of the packaging suggests? I personally don't like having a convex mirror on the outside of the mirror mainly due to the fact that I need as much width as possible to see around my 102" wide trailer...

Anglerman,

What PCarlson and Mingoglia said, DEFECTIVE. Mine didn't come that way! Also, with regard to the convex, I DIDN't mount mine. Couldn't decide whether I wanted them on inside or outside. Plus... didn't want to block that beautiful 10"x10" viewing that I now have. Probably won't ever mount them.

Sorry for your misfortune and good luck on your return. I am sure that Geno's will make it right by you. They might even ship you a new pair before you return yours and I would bet that they will issue a UPS pickup tag, thus saving you the freight. Let us know how it works out for you.

Regards,

Roger

Geno's is the best! I contacted Andy at Geno's, he contacted the manufacturer who suggested that I finish the mirrors assembly. I told Andy i was not comfortable with that solution so he shipped me new mirrors that he had personally inspected and paid for the shipping to return the defective ones. The only thing it cost me was a little time, which does not bother me. Cudo's to Geno's!
