TT hitch pin hole egg shaped

First Heavy Hall, Data & Suggestions

Just returned from a two week trip up to Burney, CA.

Towing my TT up the 9% grade outside of Shingletown on Hwy 44 I could just barely get out of my own way!

What the %&^$??

I checked all my clamps before, they were tight. The truck is bone stock ( maybe thats the problem )

Any ideas from the faithful?

Also broke my clockspring on the trip, the recall notice was in my pile of mail when I got home.

well.

First you need to transfer the power to the ground and not leave it hangin in the TC

I highly recommend www.dieseltrans.com for the best transmission mods or just great advice 1-604-504-4002

I would also advise a set of injectors and you will have a great towing rig.

I also agree with your dutchman statement (never owned one but knew some that did) :(

I love my towing set up :) all passes so far at well above the legal limit! :)

Isn't there a reflash on those things for keeping the 235hp to the trans and not defaulting back to 215 when floored? You are correct in the POS part. All TT's are some are less than others. I have found that Fleetwood and Thor make a little better POS for a working mans wages.

Break it in !

BUFF, one thing, if this is your first outing with the trailer, don't fret too much.

It takes quite a few tows to get that engine to break in. The difference in power after break in is very noticable! I too was not terribly impressed on the very first trip, but every trip now, she pulls stronger.

Now, after a few tows, and putting in 275 injectors, she RIPS up the hills. It's amazing to hold 70MPH up the hills.

What I would do is tow your trailer as much as you can, and work that Cummins like you are trying to break it!

I have talked with a number of others who tow, and they noticed the same thing- a NEW Cummins needs some towing miles to unleash the full potential of the engine.

I never believed it either at first. I have experienced it now.

BTW, my 5er weighs 9000 lbs, and now I am VERY happy with the power.

Give 'er time. HARD TIME!!!

Talking about hard time. Try a 97 Dodge with over 300,000 miles all pulling grossing 26,000 lbs. My new 2001 HO. 6 speed has over 80,000 miles all pulling and grossing up to 34,600 lbs. No powerchoke or durawhat could do that and get the milege that a cummins gets. What a puller, its a awesome truck. Has gone 103 mph loaded grossing 26,000 lbs. First post on TDR, new member.

Buff. . Bob is right, I was very disapointed in the way my truck pulled hills and towed in general, even after is was broke in. Now after the DTT VB and TC and the addition of the EZ. It now pulls more like I think it should.
