Try getting some stuff called Red Line Water Wetter. We use it in racing applications because we have to use water only. The water wetter is a soap like substance that breaks surface tension and allows better heat transfer to the coolant. I put it in my truck and saw maybe 5-10 degree cooler on real hot pulling days.
You can find water wetter at hot rod shops and some motorcycle dealerships. I do not think anything below 230 is anything to worry about even though I have never seen above 220. Pure water we see 240 in our race bikes and that is NOT boiling over with a good cap.
