towing and drivers licence

I don't mean to aggravate anybody by posting another cold air intake system, but the TDR member's info will help me to choose . I've read the AFE stage2 w/ pg7 is probably the best in flow & filtration . But will the sound run my family out of the truck when we are pulling the camper?

I run an AFE stage 1 with pg7 on my 2nd gen. I can't tell that it's any louder. 5' stacks tend to get on the wifes nerves pulling the 5th wheel on long up-hill pulls. Don't know about the 3rd Gens.

I've got the pg7 and love the sound. As a matter of fact when towing when we are pulling a hill or in a tunnel we roll the windows down just to hear it. Just depends on how cool your wife is.

I'm running the stage 2, pq7 with the silencer ring out and I don't find the noise to bad with the windows up. All you hear is a nice turbo whine, a sound I like. No one has objected to the sound, not even the warden. Chances are the family probably wouldn't even notice the change.

I have the stage2 also, the location and direction the filter is aimed make it much quieter than on the 2nd gen trucks. My wife never noticed the change... ... ..... now the exhaust, thats another subject :D

Thanks guys for the helpful info. I do like the sound now with the monster exhaust & the kitty ran away. Oo.
