I think I'm going with the Catcher, and F1 Mach 1. 6's (Mach 2's too much, right?) Just need to figure out how to "Fix" the lift pump in the tank fiasco.

This setup will tow like a dream. I recommend the Catcher over the EZ because of how it responds on the low end.

Analogy:

If your trailer is like a running back carrying a football, then the EZ is like a 200-lb, 4. 8 sec 40m defender wrestling him to the ground.

The ECM would be like a 300lb 4. 0 sec 40m defender running from a 10 yd headstart and knocking the runner's block off.

The ECM tears into a load like a caged lion does steak.

It's awesome.

Oh-- and you REALLY should consider some kind of exhaust brake. All the power in the world is useless if you can't get down the mountain.

There are TWO sides to every hill, and you'd be wise to equip your towing truck for BOTH of them. (uphill AND down)

Does the intank pump present a problem here?? Is it up to a Catcher?? I'd like to know if anyone has any thoughts on this.

Lets see? With a manual that might be great! With an auto transmission that should not be hammer below around 1700 rpm's, is that really an usable place for a lot of extra power when towing?

I love my exhaust brake!!!!

That's kinda my take on it. Aside from launching from a stop in first gear, you'll probably never see below 1700 rpm while towing. And you certainly don't need any more torque in first. The EZ hits hardest right at the rpms you would normally be at cruising in 6th. That's the power that you can use to get up hills without downshifting or turning off the cruise.

Personally I don't want any more off-boost fueling while I tow. I like to be fairly smoke-free while towing. I like the idea of using the non-tapped Comp for in-cab contol of fueling for smoke control, or having the option to turn it off if I want. And the reports of having to re-learn how to use the throttle with the Catcher to prevent over fueling (combustion blowout), or getting 100% fueling at 1/2 throttle and no change above are kind of a turn off for me too.

One of the best upgrades you can do for towing ,is an

exhaust brake. I came through the smokey mts. north carolina with 14 thousand pound 5er in tow, in the middle of the night with wife and kids in the truck and the dog (aka) scooby-doo, pouring down rain and fog. thank god for my PAC BRAKE!!!!
