So far towing with a #11 plate has been no problem and EGTs are very controlable. I would like to upgrade to a #10 just for the fun factor and my towing is only a very small part of my overall use and that is a 6500lb TT and I dont go full throttle while towing very often except when provoked by a PSD (just gotta do it).

What are your experiences with this plate and what other mods have you done?

TIA

John

# 10 plate

I used a 10 for a few months , I had high EGT problems with no air upgrades on the turbo , but I have SB 13" con-ofe upgrade.

the reason I say that is the # 10 plate make the same torque as the #4 plate, but not the horsepower.

Your clutch may or may not handle the torque.

John with your turbo the #10 will be too much when towing. With the Piers HX-40 I really have come to like the #0 towing and all around driving. I find with it I don't put the peddle to the metal as much.

Your truck and mine are very similar. I've had my #10 plate in since mid December after having a #11 for a year and a half. The day I put it in, in the stock position, I dyno'd at 417hp/845tq (same hp as you!). Since then I've slid it forward about . 030". I like it a lot. Things get moving fast as a daily driver. I haven't towed with it or climbed a grade hard yet, but will soon. I suspect EGTs will be an issue, especially towing. But for around town, yee-haw!

I like mine alot! The only probby I have, is over temping, but that is only under a load, or WOT. . when towing, I must keep an eye on the pyro while walking the hills out here, but for the most part, WOW! Lots more low and mid range power over the 11! I guess the 191's help out as well! I Am looking to get the Banks twin ram intake from someone on here within a week. Will let ya know what the EGT's are doing then!

Just try adjusting the fuel stop plate (governor lever). The #11 plate has a sharp drop off similar to the #4 plate. Just adjust the plate so that it slides up & drop's partialy into the curve. The drop off is high (close to the top) on the #11. The deeper into the plate you go = more Hp/Tq & higher EGT's. Adjust it till your happy.

Thanks for the pic, I was lucky to have someone do that for me that is real sharp on these pumps (thanks Cord and Jim) and my #11 plate dynoes way better than I thought it ever would and better than most other rigs equipped the same. That is why I hesitate to change because it works real good now but I would have to resign my TDR membership if I quit changin stuff and there is no such thing as too much power.

Thanks everybody and keep the info comin.
