Good Deal on Trailer Life magazine under 8.00 for 2 years

1500 mile trip

I'm new to towing and have an 05 dodge auto with 4:10 gears with 37 inch tires. Looking for advise about it, have nice car trl towing 4000 pound car on it. If 37 are too big what are the biggest to run thanks. :D

get a transmission temp gauge. i am assuming the trailer weights about 2. 5k so a total weight of 6 to 7k SHOULDNT be too slugish off the line. the 4. 10's will make it nicer. come to think of it my 04. 5 with 6 speed had no issues with the 315's and 4. 10's. i would still make sure you have a trans temp gauge.

Have 37 toyos on my 03, but with 6 speed, no problems at all. 3. 73 gears 65mph over Mt. Hood towing 6000lbs. That was before bullydog, can't wait till Hood thaws out. :D

I have 315's with 4. 10's and auto, you will not be in a good rpm range at legal speeds in od :)

My tires measure 36. 5" and I have a 5 speed with 3. 73 gears and it is fine UNTIL you hit a hill or the mountains then it sucks when towing

The main problem I run into with 33s and 3. 54s is like bob said, staying in the legal speed limit is touhg. Across Nevada I can do 75-80 with 10-13k and have the RPMs in the perfect range but I cross Nevada twice a year
