towing with a 02 2500 ctd

Hi all,

My friend and I am picking up a 30' gooseneck trailer and I was wondering if my truck was ok with it? He has an 05 2500 sb ctd. Any problems with either of us pulling the trailer with 2 jeeps total weight around 13k

Your transmission and converter would be my only concern. Lock up switch would ease my mind a little.

What gear ratio do you have? I had an '01 auto with 3. 55. I regularily pulled a fifth wheel (about 10K), sometimes with a boat (another 4k). When pulling both, the engine would run very hot up steep grades.

correct 3. 55 ratio yes trans and converter are on the list

drive by your EGT gauge until you get familiar with the setup. i can hit 1350 real quick in the hills, but it is pretty easy to control with the throttle.
