pin box for 5th wheel

I am interested in getting a box to help me tow my 5th wheel with my 03 3500 dually 4:10. Is there one box that is better for towing than the others ? Also ease of installation would be a plus. Is it possible to install the box for towing than remove it for normal driving or is it not worth taking in off and on.

Most of the boxes currently on the market are very easy to install on the 03's. I have ran 4 of them on my 03. I love the TST but if I were going for ease and longevity especially while towing, I would consider an EZ or the new VA. The VA pressure box I tested was very smooth. On the downside the connector for the VA was a little harder to do than the EZ. Neither of them take more than 5 minutes to install. Also the VA comes with a switch that you can mount to turn it off.

Of course you could always get the new TST box and grow into it. If you run the lower settings it would do fine. You can set it to level 0 and it is totally off. Or, bump it up to level 1 and have a timing increase while towing or just every day driving

I run an EZ Comp at 3-5 setting on my '99 and it does a great job with very little, if any, smoking. At 5-5. . lots more power and lots more smoke. Hasn't seemed to have an affect on mileage. It was fairly simple to install.

Been towing with an Edge EZ (lvl 4 when towing - gauges a must), and works great. I don't take the box off; only when taking her to the dealership...

I run an EZ on level 3 and can easily put the egts into the danger zone when at higher altitudes. Below 4000 feet, I don't have much of a problem.

I'll tow on level 4 with my EZ with no problem. The only time that my temps get up there is when I go WOT up a big long grade. Highest I have hit was 1425 when I first got my 5th wheel testing it out up a hill at 85mph... It's to easy to go to fast with these trucks.

Towing with EDGE box

Been towing 3 years now with a EDGE box. The dealers never say a word. Even had a lift pump change no problem! Towing a 38ft 5th wheel we get about 11mpg at 2200 rpm no head winds The only thing that took any time to install was the new fitting for the waste gate.
