Anyone have any feedback on towing with a Kore kit. Does the truck wander, or brake or feel any harrier while towing? What size wheels, and tire do you have if you have feedback. How much weight are you towing? I just bought an 06 beacuse it drives soooooo nice compared to my 2nd gen, but I do not want it to drive ANY worse than it does. Does the steering wheel take a ANY more effort to turn? Does the truck wander anymore when empty? If not what tire do you run? Thanks for all your help

I have not had the chance to tow and dont think I would even want to try it. Here is my kore experince. .

since the kore chase install the back passenger side of the truck sits 1 inch lower. I have a terrible sqeeking noise in the front drivers side when comming to a stop... . possible all the time but hard to hear over my stacks. The thing that bothers me the most is the truck drives a perfect straight line unless you apply throttle, the it pushes to the left (not a little I mean enough you have to counter steer) and when you let off it comes right back to a straight line. I have took it to three different alignment shops to make sure everything is good and its perfect everytime. Also it rides worse on the pavement then it did before the install. Yes it did help with the rear wheel hop and looks alot better sitting level but other than that I would not put this on my truck if I could do it over. If someone really wants a kore system buy me a different setup and I will trade you for it!!!! And help you install and swap everything.

Now I dont have a 3rd gen but I have the Kore Chase on my 01. 5 2nd gen so results may very well be different. Mine drives a little better on the road but not much. It definitely takes the dirt, gravel and rough roads much better. Some roads that I used to drive at 20 I can now do 40 or better on with no problem. As far as steering mine seems about the same. No more or less effort, no additional wander at all. I have run both the stock size 265 tires with Bridgestone Dueler Revos and now 285 Toyo M55's. I have not noticed any difference towing either however my trailer is only about 5k. I have noticed that if loading the bed it squats more when loaded but I took off my overload springs when I put the mini pack on the rear. I may end up putting them back on. In fact I would have already but I need to get longer u-bolts to do it as I also have traction bars mounted there as well. While they fit fine without the overloads the ubolts arent quite long enough with the mini pack to run the overloads and the t-bars.

Seems like the "1 inch lower on passenger side" would be the root of the problem. Must be some logical explanation as to why it its that way??

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking... . I love my Kore chase system... Definitly better on the road. . No wander, got rid of the dually jolt, or harshness, Leveled the truck, got rid of body roll...

It is a most definite improvement over stock.

If lethal injection is having all of those problems, I would suspect the installation...

Now, the only complaint that I have about the system is the Bilstein shocks on the rear do not hold N2 for more than a month... I just called KORE 2 days ago and they don't use these shocks anymore but use a proprietary FOX shock...

BARRYG: I only tow about 6500lbs myslef... Kore did say that if I want to tow at max gross, they have longer U bolts available if you want to add back your upper and or lower overloads. .

All in all, this suspension was a definite positive upgrade for me.

Cheers, BIll

Okay now I am even more confused. Thanks for the replies though. Keep em coming if there are more of you with feedback.

Thanks again

Lethal, I think you have a very isolated problem and it sounds like it could be a cracked rear leaf or a broken alignment pin, or a bad bushing or all of the above. If you had any reason to be out in California I would be happy to get under your truck and investigate the problems, no charge. I stand behind this product firmly and dont like seeing customers un-happy even if I didn't sell to them. The squeak in the front should be a very simple fix and is most likely something loose.

As for towing with kore I tow the dodge race truck (8000lb with cage and spares) with my dodge pre-run truck, both 2500 CTD both equiped with Kore however, I have found it to be much better with the Toyos rather than the BFG's the much stiffer side wall make a big differance. Loren

i have towed with my kore chase and seems to handle, brake, and drive just like normal. although i have only towed maybe 8-10,000lb trailers. my buddy has to use his airbags pulling his sno-mobile trailer with his stock 03'. but i have pulled that same trailer with my 05' kore/chase without needing airbags.

I have an 03 with a race system on it and it tows much nicer than stock. I towed a 10k trailer back from Pennsylvania last year and was very pleased. No funny steering or stopping. My old school father was along for the ride also and thought I ruined the truck for towing, until he put some seat time in the truck and was equally impressed. I still tow a trailer with my off road truck on it all the time from San Diego to Ocotillo and still love to pull the grades.

Ross,

We tow, haul, and drive hard off road in our KORE equipped truck. It has held up very well and provides (IMO) a much improved ride over stock. I'm happy to go over any specific questions you have. We're not too far away from you.

Lethal... ... ... . typically, the KORE systems come with a "driver's side" and "passenger side" coil. If they are reversed, it could cause one side to sit an inch lower than the other and could be part of the reason for the trouble you are experiencing. You might want to check this if you haven't already.
