What I do with my truck........

5th airborne

We have towed our DayDreamer with now 2 different duallys. Both trucks rode with a bucking from the RV. It has been a 2 year search for upgrades to help with the ride. The TrailAir hitch just did not cut it. We installed a HitchCrafter custom hitch, a Demco RV hitch and removed probably 90% of the buck. Forest River replaced my 7k axles with 8k axles and springs which helped with the RV ride as well as the buck. With the 12 ply 19. 5s we did have a harsher ride than the 17s. We added a set of Firestone air bags before our GA. camping trip 2 weeks ago and both my wife and I have been totally impressed with the present ride. We are running 30#s in the bags and that raises the main pack off both sets of overloads. We can not feel the harshness of the 19. 5s. Riding now in a truck with "0" buck is awesome. :-laf

I agree, air bags are awesome. They are progressive from empty to maximum load. Over loads are okay on a real light load (they don't make contact) or if you are way overloaded. The in-between weight is harsh because you loose the progressive design of the main leaves, especially the big stiff bottom overload leaf. That sucker don't give when contact is made, giving you a hash bottom out feel.
