Towing with tow bar

Anybody tow their 3rd gen 4x4 auto with a tow bar. I have had suggestions to disconnect front drive shaft and put transfer case in neutral.

personaly when i flat tow ANYTHING that is not a front wheel drive ride, 2wd or 4wd i disco the front and rear at the axle ends and just tie up the shafts. it takes a bit longer, and i wont to it for less than 20 miles, but i dont like to even be turning the x-fer case
