Is anybody running the 35x12. 50x17 toyo open country m/t's on stock rims. I did a search and did not find much discussion on these. If you have these how do you like them?

Thanks

I am interested in this too. I think these may be my next set of tires. It's frustrating that the Toyo website doen't have any tech specs listed for that size other than being E rated. Anybody have those specs?

Interestingly too is that Kent Kroeker did the Baja on those tires and stock aluminum rims, so it cannot hurt too much.

Kry226,

I think Kent was running 37x13. 50x17 Toyo M/T on the sick wheels in the BAJA 1000.

You're right. :-laf He was running 37s, but look at these pics: KORE BAJA 1000 Those are definitely the stock wheels.

A good number of folks with the Kore setup run the m/t. I've talked to a few of them and they all seem to love it - praising the noise and on road comfort for a tough mud tire. It will be my next tire on a set of the kore weld's. Still trying to wear out my stockers a bit :)

I spent a little time a few weeks ago in one of KORE's trucks with the 35" toyo MT's in the 18" version and didn't notice any noise to speak of, I was focused on other things that day so I wasn't really listening for it but if there was noise it wasn't much.

I'm running the 35x12. 50x20 on mine. I like the way the look and sound. They are smoother than my Goodyears and make less noise than both BFG and Goodyear. They are more aggressive aswell. :D

I'm quite sure Kent ran the KORE Weld 18" rims for the Baha 500 earlier in the year and switched back to the OEM 17" for the Baha 1000.

Kwikspool, What rims are those? They look like Forte Big Manny's. Belle Tire gave me a pretty good quote for that combo about a month back but I didn't jump on it. Looks great on the truck!

Jared is correct, he had the 18's for the 500 and then the 17's for the 1000.

BTW, I love these 18" Toyo tires and once my stock BFG's wear out, will probably use them for everyday driving. However, I've only used them in the dry off road. Anyone know how they are in the snow? I've got a couple mountain trips coming up and am not sure which would be better. The stock 17" BFG's with half the tread left or the 18's Toyos...
